HERBERT - George S. Sr., 93; Middle Taylor Twp., passed away at home, on March 12, 2024. Born November 30, 1930 in Johnstown, son of Anastady and Julia (Balitsky) Herbert. Preceded in death by parents; son, Andrew Herbert; loving wife, Margaret “Peggy” (Buckman) Herbert; brothers, Joseph and Frank Herbert; and sisters, Anna Czyrnik, Angeline Geisler, Josephine Edmiston and Verna Furnari. Survived by loving children, George Herbert II, Janet Russell, Richard Herbert (Lori), and Monica Micik (Donald); daughter-in-law, Debbie Herbert; grandchildren, George III (Beth), Anna Mentzer (Tyler), Katie Holliday (Zeb), Ali Russell, Garrett Herbert (Bri), Amber Basta (Nabil), Beau Herbert, Kyle Micik (Abbie), Alyssa Micik and Andrew Herbert II (Maggie); and great grandchildren, George Herbert IV, Sarina, Aleigha, Ben, Kenna, Cora, Brianna, Peyton, Carson, Jackson, Quinn and Sawyer. A brother of Julia Wojcik. George will be remembered by his dedication to his family and his sense of humor. He cherished the time spent with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially working on and restoring cars. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Retired foreman for Bethlehem Steel Corp. A member of Resurrection Parish, where friends and family are asked to attend Funeral Mass at 12 noon on Saturday, the Rev. George M. Gulash celebrant.
